I would be very grateful if you gave me the photocopies on your ning session!
See you at the IOW conference.
Sarah
PS: Pigloo... :-)
Thanks for the comment!
Its actually not art work. Its inside of the famous 7 star Burj al arab hotel in Dubai. We were not really supposed to take pictures but I couldn t resist. ;-)Those are the hotel rooms you are seeing.
I love the Barbapapa family, they were quite big in Italy in the 70s when I was a little girl... and I've recently rediscovered them on Youtube (how sad is that !?!). I used that PowerPoint last year, but today with my new Year 3 I used a not terribly original Simpsons PowerPoint. I've noticed with disappointment that the children prefer the Simpsons... :-(
I have already signed up for Joe Dale's conference and I'll be at your talk with Lisa Stevens. Unfortunately, due to clashes among sessions, I won't manage to attend yours on Ning Networks (I'd like to set up something similar for the very small community of Italian teachers to exchange ideas, resources etc.). Is it going to be a hands-on, practical type of session?
Thank you very much again and see you at the IOW Coference.

Thank-you for the welcome!
I'm enjoying finding new (to me) technologies here and following links. I'm also looking jealously at the Isle of Wight conference. Do you know if any of the sessions will be recorded?

Thanks for the greeting. I do teach in a Mandarin immersion program, but the English part and my partner handles the Mandarin.
Thank you again for the warm welcome.

Thanks alot for all your help so far, I am very grateful. I will be emailing Lisa too so thanks for getting in touch. I would love to attend the IOW conference but am unable to get the time off so will be down loading the notes from that as soon as there put on the web site. What school are you teaching at? I have a meeting tomorrow with my dissy tutor so will let you know about what else I need to find out. Hope you are ok,
Maria xx
I've actually given up French at KS2!! There weren't enough afternoons as I have 3 fixed afternoons in 2 infants' schools. I said I'd give the 2 junior schools a year....which I did....but they wnted me to do a total of 5 afternoons this year!...the maths didn't add up!! The head of one school said she'd been at a heads' meeting with the county MFL advisor this week who said she reccomended that class teachers take it over with a 'modest' one off payment for each school......not much for the training & resources needed, even if the staff were ready/willing for the challenge!! I thought Rigolo was good for the able as well as the less able & enjoyed the sample, but had no money to buy it. I do think, with the virtual teacher, it would be good for these inexperienced class teachers! In the meantime I teach Y2 French every week at one infants school & a French lunchtime club at my other one. I think with KS2 MFL 'up in the air' I feel happier to stick to my preferred age group.....& less stress all round.I use LCF Babelzone there & songs from La Jolie Ronde as well as games we all love!!
Fraid I haven't used it or seen it used yet. Sorry no help! Spanish side going well at the moment. Got a day and a half teaching Spanish in two different schools and am going for other things- AST in Sandwell, regional trainer and doing some work for Wton university (after doing my dvd!) Fingers crossed something will work out. Trying to fill the other two days at moment with supply but very slow- we very skint! Hope you are happier in your new job- didn't realise it was a temporary thing? Hope Speekee good?
Hx
thanks
Melvyn
