A network for anyone teaching languages in Primary
If anyone can use them I have been playing around with Apple Mac's Garageband to produce some music to the rhymes that she suggests for use in the primary classroom. They are loaded onto the music player of my main page and can be downloaded in mp3 format. My first stab at this so apologies for any poor quality!

I have already put some links to this singer on the site. I think she is a really good composer for children, she has a strong message to convey about children's rights, and her songs would fit well into any work schools might do on this theme. I am adding this song to the site "Enfants des Rues" as a strong example of what she does. The mp3 was downloaded for free from We7.com. Listen to these songs on my page ENFANTS DES RUES : Dans… Continue

This is my one big worry with the current push for languages at Primary Level. I know that although I am not a native speaker of French, my accent is pretty good. I am asked by French people what part of France I come from, but I know this is because I was first taught French when I was 7 by a French woman. I worry that many pupils first contact with the language is not going to give them that. What do others think? Here is one neat tip that really works though when you are trying to improve pr… Continue

Here's attempt number two at the subtitling. There are LOADS of neat vids on youtube that could be used for any level of teaching. You can tailor what kids have to listen out for at any level as long as you simplify the task. Great for teaching kids to sift through noise to find one relevant sound, and in a fun way. Song is pretty annoying after a while though! Continue

No I'm afraid I don't ! One of the schools in my LA has done a bit as part of a project with Sunderland Uni, but personally I haven't done anything. Sorry !
Not on your horizon until 20 mins ago?! Well, you have a steep but very fun learning curve ahead of you! :-) Welcome to the madness.....you will find that you've gone from one side of cyberspace to the other with little or no recollection of how you actually got there.
When my email "pinged" to let me know I had a new message I was shocked to see someone up waaaay past English bedtime!!!
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions about the course.
Cheers,

I am sure you will love our friendly group. You may be intested in the links to the resources I have on my blog for French and lots of other languages. I am a secondary teacher too and I have been French and /or Spanish in primary for 4 years now. To find the links, go to My Languages then scroll down to a long list of keywords to the right (delicious tags), just click on the relevant keyword to get an updated list of links to resources e.g. French... You can filter for just Primary resources by clicking +primary once in del.icio.us to get a list of French Primary resources only.
I hope it is of use...

I have just completed a 4 week teaching practice in Spain which was very interesting. The system there is very different to that which I have experienced so far in England.
Thanks for the link.
